In two posts, Linda of the “Why are you yelling?” blog elegantly personalizes the ‘Wall Street’ protests — and gives an accurate explanation for why you’re not seeing  many minorities in those crowds:

“Being there and seeing the mostly white crowd also made me wonder how to incorporate minorities into the movement, groups that have been systematically disenfranchised throughout American history. Black americans have been feeling the effects of an uncaring government and upper class for so long that this movement probably elicits a ‘Well, join the club’ response. I hope we find a way to recognize and acknowledge the differences in our struggles and join together in standing up for ourselves. I feel that the burden is on the movement and they need to think of something fast.”
